Description
Quartz Floor 1300 Concrete Floor Hardener (Dry Shake Hardener)
1. Product Description
Quartz Floor 1300 is a ready-to-use dry powder composed of high-quality cement, graded hard quartz sand, polymer additives, and performance enhancers. It is applied as a dry spray to fresh concrete surfaces to harden concrete floors and increase their resistance to abrasion, impact, and heavy traffic.
2. Applications
Floors in factories, workshops, and warehouses.
Floors in parking lots, garages, and truck lanes.
Floors in service stations and gas stations (areas not exposed to harsh chemicals).
Warehouses, production facilities, wheelbarrow and forklift driveways.
Any concrete floor requiring a hard, abrasion-resistant, and easy-to-clean surface.
3. Product Features
High abrasion resistance: Increases the lifespan of the concrete surface and reduces wear and tear from equipment and vehicles.
Excellent surface hardness thanks to its high-hardness quartz content.
Dust reduction: Minimizes dust generation from the concrete.
Synthetic and aesthetically pleasing surface: Provides a smooth or semi-gloss finish depending on the application method.
Ready to use: No on-site mixing with sand or cement is required.
Easy cleaning and maintenance: A dense surface reduces oil and dirt absorption.
Available in several colors (cement gray, dark gray, green, red, etc., as per customer request).
Economical compared to asphalt or ceramic tile flooring for large areas.
4. Typical Technical Data
(Approximate values, subject to adjustment based on your specific requirements)
Basis: Portland cement + graded quartz sand.
Grain size: Up to approximately 2–3 mm (depending on the design). Apparent density of the powder: Approximately 1.8–2.0 kg/L.
Approximate consumption:
Moderate application: 3–4 kg per square meter
Heavy application: Increases according to the design
Hardener layer thickness (integrated with the concrete surface): Approximately 2–4 mm, depending on the quantity and finishing method.
5. Concrete and Surface Preparation
1. Use concrete with a suitable strength for flooring (at least C25–C30) with controlled slump.
2. Ensure proper leveling of the concrete using aluminum leveling vibrators and Tremix, or other available methods.
3. The surface must be free of segregation and free water pooling, but still in a plastic state to withstand the application of the hardener and the screed without sinking.
6. Application Instructions
6.1 Hardener Spraying Phase
1. Wait until most of the bleed water has evaporated from the concrete surface and the surface has begun to harden (a walkable surface with minimal footprints).
2. Spray approximately 60% of the total quantity of QUARTZ FLOOR 1300 manually or using a dry sprayer, evenly over the entire surface.
3. Allow the powder to absorb moisture from the concrete for several minutes until it darkens in color, then incorporate it into the surface using a manganese aluminum float or a rotary helicopter trowel (Power Trowel).
6.2 Second Spraying and Smoothing
4. Spray the remaining third (40%) of the quantity, especially on high-stress or under-covered areas.
5. Re-trowel or use the helicopter again to incorporate the second coat until a smooth surface layer is formed.
6.3 Final Finishing
6. After hardening begins, perform final helicopter sanding to achieve the desired smoothness and gloss (light, medium, or high).
7. Avoid over-smoothing if a non-slip surface is required.
7. Curing
After the final finish is complete, the surface must be cured immediately to prevent rapid water evaporation with:
HARD CURING 4000
You can use:
A curing compound suitable for concrete floors, or
Cover the surface with plastic sheeting or damp burlap for a minimum of 3–7 days.
Proper curing is essential for optimal hardness and abrasion resistance.
8. Meets ASTM Requirements
QUARTZ FLOOR 1300 is designed to meet or exceed the requirements of the following standard specifications when applied to concrete conforming to code requirements and with proper installation:
ASTM C779: Abrasion Resistance of Concrete Floors
ASTM C944: Surface abrasion resistance of concrete by rotary disc.
The formula can be adapted for additional tests as required by the project (e.g., dust resistance, impact resistance).
9. Packaging and Storage
Packaging: Multi-layer paper bags/air-sealed kraft bags (25 kg)
Storage: Store in a dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
Shelf life: Up to 12 months from the date of production in the original, unopened packaging, under the recommended storage conditions.
10. Safety Precautions
It is recommended to wear gloves, safety glasses, and a dust mask during mixing, spraying, and smoothing.
Avoid prolonged contact with eyes or skin. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water or consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children or consult a physician.
